Renaissance Revival Carved Oak Library/Coffee Table, Late 19th Century

Item Details

A low-profile oak table featuring a heavy rectangular top with beveled edges, currently protected by a glass insert. The piece is defined by a massive central trestle pedestal deeply carved with symmetrical Renaissance Revival motifs, including acanthus scrolls and central cartouches. The base terminates in a wide, splayed H-form foot with matching foliate carvings. The reverse of the pedestal is a flat finished panel.

Condition

- top surface shows significant moisture rings, scratches, and finish wear under the glass; vertical age crack is present in the central carved panel of the pedestal; base shows localized white paint splatters and scuffing to the feet.
