Item Details
A Chinese pale celadon jade shallow dish, thinly worked in a lobed, quatrefoil (begonia) form. The translucent stone exhibits a pale greenish-white tone with natural whitish striations and cloud-like inclusions typical of the material. The vessel features gently rounded sides rising to a scalloped rim, supported by a short, conforming foot.
Provenance: From the estate of Jacques (1921–2023) and Frances Crampon (1922–2025). Jacques Crampon served as a Captain in the US Merchant Marine and US Navy; the couple collected Asian fine art while traveling in Tokyo and Cape Town, South Africa. Accompanied by a certificate from Art For Eternity (Howard Nowes).
