Item Details
A cylindrical porcelain brush pot of substantial form, decorated in the famille rose (rose medallion variant) palette with overglaze enamels. The primary motif features a footed basket overflowing with peonies, chrysanthemums, and various flora, flanked by detached floral sprays and a butterfly. The upper rim is finished with an iron-red Greek key (fret) border above a diaper-patterned ruyi-head valance. The underside shows a characteristic unglazed ring with an iron-red character mark and a legacy Sotheby’s New York auction label.
