Description: Red Morocco-style relief leather covers featuring deep geometric embossing and four white porcelain or glass bosses (studs) on the front board. Includes a single brass mechanical clasp. Interior: Thick card stock pages with gilt edges, arranged to display two portraits per page. The windows feature arched tops typical of the 1860s–1870s. Contents: Contains a collection of ferrotypes (tintypes). Subjects include men, women, and children in period dress. Notable Inclusion: A jugate (dual) campaign portrait of Ulysses S. Grant and Schuyler Colfax, produced for the 1868 U.S. Presidential election. The image depicts Grant (left) and Colfax (right) in bust views.
