McKenney, Thomas & Hall, James. History of the Indian Tribes of North America. Set of three (3) hand-colored Imperial Folio lithographs. Includes the scarce J-Aw-Beance (E.C. Biddle, 1836), Wa-Em-Boesh-Kaa (Greenough, 1838), and A-Na-Cam-E-Gish-Ca. From the premier 19th-century work on Native American history. Framed in matching gilt molding.

The ‘Rare’ Plate: The J-Aw-Beance print is the highlight of this group. It is often cited in bibliographies as a plate that was lithographed but frequently omitted from the final bound books.

Condition

- mild undulations; minor foxing; minimal debris beneath glazing; scratching, minor finish loss to frame.

Mixed Condition.

J-AW-BEANCE: Fair/Poor. Exhibits significant water staining/tidelines extending from the right margin into the image area and text block
