French Restoration Period Alabaster Portico Mantel Clock with Glass Cloche

Item Details

A mid-19th-century French architectural mantel clock crafted from white alabaster. The case features a classic portico design surmounted by a shallow carved urn finial. The facade is decorated with relief-carved floral swags, stiff-leaf borders, and rosettes. It centers a gilt metal dial with a guilloché (engine-turned) center, Roman numeral chapter ring, and an ornate repoussé floral bezel. The movement is a standard round French brass 8-day movement. The clock rests on an ebonized wood base and is protected by a blown glass dome.
