A rectangular classical bas-relief panel composed of cast concrete, depicting the profile busts of two young boys facing right, enclosed within a circular border. The lower register features an integrated inscription reading: IN MEMORY / OF TWO SONS / ROBERT and ALFRED DAVIDSON. The lot includes the corresponding negative mold used for casting. The work is signed/inscribed by the artist, Chester Beach, along the upper edge. The reverse exhibits a rough, aggregate texture consistent with casting processes. The style reflects the Beaux-Arts and American Renaissance traditions characteristic of Beach’s oeuvre.
Artist Significance: Chester Beach was a prominent American sculptor and a National Academician, known for his allegorical bronzes and portrait busts.
