English Brown Transferware Ice Pail or Wine Cooler, Circa 1891-1920
Item Details
A white ceramic cylindrical vessel with a slightly tapered body, decorated with an all-over transfer-printed design in sepia-brown. The pattern features climbing leafy vines and clusters of flowers, with a geometric trellis band circling the rim. The vessel has two applied side handles of molded, stylized flower form. The underside base is marked with the word ‘ENGLAND’ in a printed brown font.
