Late 19th Century French-Style Patinated Bronze Mantel Clock with Bacchus Masks. A large patinated bronze mantel clock, late 19th century, of architectural form, featuring a rectangular case raised on a scroll-cut plinth base. The case is surmounted by a decorative crest with acanthus and foliate scrollwork. The sides are embellished with high-relief cast masks of Bacchus/Satyr, crowned with grape vines. The circular time dial features applied, decorative white Roman numerals on a dark wood or similarly colored ground with an engraved sunburst center.

Condition
- residue; patina; tarnish; wood piece on top is warped; the metal piece is separated a little from the top wood piece; finish wear; small dents and a couple of bent pieces; nicks and a couple of small chips; some chipped, cracked, and repaired Roman numerals; the internal clock parts have been removed and replaced with battery operated movement; scratches, scuffs, marks, and wear throughout.
