Large American or English Folk Art Wooden Pond Yacht Hull, Circa 1890–1920
Item Details
Wooden model yacht hull of large size, constructed of planks with a deck stained dark brown and a hull with an aged, heavily crackled (alligatoring) red and tan painted finish. The deck edge shows exposed metal fasteners (nails/brads). The deck features two small wooden pegs, a rectangular wood block, and a central circular opening with rough-cut edges, likely for mast or keel mounting. The overall form is a long, slender racing yacht hull.
