French Morbier Comtoise Wall Clock by Moindrot à Aubigny, 19th Century
Item Details
A 19th-century French Morbier or Comtoise-type wall clock. The clock features a large, patinated cast metal bezel and surround decorated with a central peacock crest, two swans at the base, and flanking birds of prey. The case encloses a circular white enameled dial with black Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic five-minute and date (1-31) rings. The dial is signed ‘MOINDROT’ and ‘à Aubigny.’ The movement is housed within a rectangular wood enclosure on the back and is weight-driven, with two conical iron weights present.
