A Chinese brown glazed earthenware vessel of globular form with a thick rolled rim. The exterior is decorated with a continuous, high-relief molded design of a five-clawed dragon pursuing a flaming pearl amidst stylized clouds and waves. The base clay is a coarse, reddish-brown earthenware. The vessel is presented on a separate, dark-finished carved rosewood or similar hardwood display stand with scrolled feet.
