A turned and plank-seat rocking armchair, featuring a black painted ground with extensive gold and colored stenciling depicting grape clusters and foliage on the crest rail and lower back splat, and striping details on the spindles, posts, and stretchers. The chair has a shaped wooden plank seat and scroll-form wooden handrests with an exposed wood grain finish. The back employs a stepped crest rail and vertically turned spindles. The whole rests on two extended rockers.
