Item Details

An English Regency style oval tôle tray with a black ground, featuring a central polychrome-painted genre scene depicting a standing figure in a red coat with dogs and a white horse in a landscape. The tray has a raised, rolled edge, gilt detailing, and is fitted onto a custom wood stand. The ebonized wood stand is constructed with turned faux bamboo legs, a conforming X-form stretcher base with gilt highlights, and terminates in flared feet. The tray is removable from the stand.

- with nicks, scratches, and abrasions consistent with age and use; craquelure.
