Early American Blue Painted Pine Slant-Top Lift-Lid Chest with Dovetailing

Item Details

A large wooden chest featuring a slant-form hinged lift-lid and a dovetailed case construction. The body of the chest is finished in an old blue paint. The chest rests on four turned feet and exhibits exposed dovetail joinery at the corners. The interior is fitted with a partial divider forming a small internal compartment (till) beneath the lid on the right side.

Condition

- with nicks, scratches, and abrasions consistent with age and use; finish wear and losses; surface residue and discolorations.
