Korean Money Box with Wrought Iron Hinges & Mounts, Circa 1900

Item Details

A late 19th or early 20th-century Korean chest, constructed from a light-colored wood, with a dark brown lacquer finish. The chest is reinforced with iron hardware, including vertical and horizontal straps, corner brackets, and a large front lock plate. The lock plate features an openwork design, and the chest is fitted with drop handles on each side. The interior is lined with a paper lining printed with Korean characters.
