From included artist biography:

‘Stan gets many of his ideas for painting from the real outdoors. ’’Often times, I’m sitting there daydreaming and the picture comes to mind. Then I go out in the field to take photos for reference to details.‘’ It’s his attention to small details that make his paintings – ‘works of art.’
