Item Details
A wide Louis XV style open armchair, known as a fauteuil, featuring a carved mahogany-tone wood frame. The frame is shaped with a curvilinear crest rail, padded arms with scrolling supports, and a scalloped apron. It stands on cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. Carved decoration includes foliate and shell motifs on the crest, apron, and knees. The chair is fitted with removable, loose cushions for the seat and back, and includes a lumbar pillow, all upholstered in a light blue or celadon-colored floral brocade fabric with blue and gold-tone accents. The back of the chair is upholstered in matching fabric, while the underside is covered with a plain black textile.
