From attached artist statement:
‘So overshadowing was the Barrymore theatrical, screen and radio fame, however, his talent as an artist was scarcely recognized until after his death in 1954. That he was indeed an outstanding artist was strikingly revealed with the discovery of several etchings in which he created during his lifetime.’
