Karen Pagán is the artist and founder of Rejected & Redeemed Studio (R&R), where she transforms vintage and discarded jewelry and personal effects into framed collage artworks that celebrate beauty in brokenness. Using forgotten treasures – broken bracelets, lone earrings, missing gems, old guitar strings – she breathes new life into what was once cast aside, creating whimsical, textured compositions that shimmer with history and meaning.

A deep believer in repurposing, Karen sources frames from estate sales and thrift stores and selects discontinued fabric samples as backdrops, ensuring that every element of her work is given a second chance. Her favorite commissions come from clients who bring her cherished heirlooms – pieces from parents and grandparents that might otherwise sit in drawers – so she can craft them into everyday visual reminders of love and legacy.

Her philosophy is simple: Just because something is broken doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful. Life leaves its marks on all of us, yet there is resilience and artistry in reimagining what remains.

Based in Tennessee, Karen is also a consultant at a design studio, where she continues to explore creative expression through home design. Throughout her life, she has sought ways to merge art, memory, and transformation, turning the discarded into something extraordinary.
