Item Details

A medley of mostly vintage novels and poetry books. The five novel titles include ‘The King’s Jackal’ by Richard Harding Davis (1898), ‘Mrs. Balfame’ by Gertrude Atherton (1916) and ’There’ll Always Be a Drayneflete’ (1950), ‘Drayneflete Revealed’ (1962) and ‘The Littlehampton Bequest’ (1974), all written and illustrated by Osbert Lancaster. The five poetry titles include ‘The Shorter Poems of Robert Bridges’ (1931), ‘Watchboy, What of the Night?’ (1966) and ‘Between the Chains’ by Turner Cassity, ‘Lining Up’ poems by Richard Howard (1984) and ‘Bestiary of The Parade of Orpheus’ by Guillaume Apollinaire with woodcuts by Raoul Dufy (1980).

Condition

- overall, with wear, small tears to dust jackets, toning consistent with age. “The King’s Jackal” and “Shorter Poems” are fair with heavier wear to the cover and staining. There is writing to the inside cover pages.

These range in size up to “The Littlehampton Bequest” at 9"H x 6.25"W.
