Antique French Republic Gilt 800 Silver Médaille Carnot, 1916

Designed by Louis-Oscar Roty (French, 1846–1911), the Carnot medal is awarded for significant contributions to science, industry or the economy.

This example, engraved for George W Cohen, was awarded to the University of California at Palo Alto in 1916.
