- ornate designs on edges of frame have been chipped and broken off with most severe damage top top left and right corners; frame chipped at inner left edge near bottom left corner; frame cracked along bottom edge of frame with smaller cracks around inner edges of frame; nail heads protruding from verso of frame along top edge; heavy discoloration to gilt across frame; loss of paint on canvas; craquelure to paint along top edge of canvas; canvas is loose behind frame.
