Pair of Fire Insurance Cast Iron Markers

Item Details

A pair of vintage cast iron fire insurance markers from the mid 1800’s. These cast iron plaques were visibly mounted to exterior walls to indicate to fire brigades that they were insured. This lot contains a large round vintage Virginia Metalcrafters plaque showing an old water pump to the center with F.I. Co below, the second plaque is ovale with a hydrant depicted in relief to the center with U.F.I. Co above.

Condition

- large plaque is rusted and pitted with paint significantly worn, the smaller plaque is soiled and shows paint were also.
