Vintage George Nelson for Herman Miller Executive Desk

Modernist in its design this L-shaped desk is a classic George Nelson design from mid-century. Large writing desk with left return in walnut. Return includes: file drawer with inside key, 3 drawers (2 with adjustable built-in organiziers); hidden cabinet under desk for waste bin. Doors have magnet closures. Tubular metal stick legs.

Architect George Nelson joined Herman Miller as director of design in 1945. Over the next four decades Nelson was to have an enormous influence upon Herman Miller. Beginning in the late 1940s, under Nelson’s direction, Herman Miller produced some of the world’s most iconic pieces of modern furniture, including the Noguchi table, Eames Lounge Chair, Marshmallow sofa, and the Sling sofa. Condition

Top should be buffed but would benefit from sanding and restaining. Desk top has ink stain that can be sanded out.
