A very rare book titled ‘Modern Cremation’ by Sir H. Thompson, Bart., F.R.C.S., published by Smith, Elder, & Co., of London, a fourth edition with 1901 copyright date. This unique book features the subject of cremation, its history and practice to the date of 1901 and includes chapters related to the history of cremation, the value of cremation in case of deaths by infectious disease, arguments of cremation and modern cremation. There are five full-page plate views and other drawings and charts. This smaller sized book has a red fabric hardcover with embossed black title to the front and spine and sewn binding.

Condition

- fair, wear to the cover, bald at the corners and heavier wear to the edges of the spine, toning, writing to the inside cover page, at least two pages have tears to the tops.
