A Hand Colored Engraving of the Chartres Cathedral, Signed
Item Details
A vintage hand colored engraving by Charles Maurice (1883-1908). The engraving depicts the interior of the 12th century Chartres Cathedral in France. The engraving has been hand colored to place emphasis on the incredible stained glass windows while two smaller vignettes, at the bottom, show the facade of the beautiful church. The engraving is signed in pencil ‘Ch. Maurice’ in the center of the bottom margin. The piece has been professionally finished in a mat with marbleized detailing and a gold wooden frame.
