Sculptor Richard Erdman, born in Princeton, New Jersey in 1952, is internationally acclaimed for his marble and bronze works. Celebrated for their provocative dance of curves and contrast, they explore form, movement, and the natural beauty of the material chosen. A graduate of the University of Vermont, Erdman developed a lifelong connection to Carrara, Italy, where he discovered “worlds of possibility and wonder in the sublime beauty of ancient stone.” His career was launched with a major commission in 1983 for the Donald M. Kendall Sculpture Gardens at PepsiCo, placing his work alongside modern art giants. Erdman’s sculptures are featured in over 140 collections across six continents, including the United Nations and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Recent public commissions in Taiwan and Nevada further underscore his global reach and enduring impact.
