Vintage Hand Tinted Etchings of Naples, Italy in 1845

A pair of handsome vintage hand tinted etchings of monuments and landmarks of Naples, Italy, as seen in 1845. One work depicts the ‘Piazza de S. Domenico maggiore’ with a small gathering of people around the monument in the square, with ‘Vianelli dis.’ to the center of the work, and ‘F.A.J. litog’ to the left corner and ‘Lit.Zexon’ to the right corner. The second work is titled ‘Arco di trionfo di Alfonso l’in Castelnuovo, and is signed ‘Forino lit.’ to the lower left corner and ‘Lit. delle due Sicilie’ to the lower right. Both pieces are finely bordered, both on the work and on the off white mat, and are finished in a gilt frame with beaded edge. The works were purchased from Closson’s.
