Handel Bronze Lamp & Birds of Paradise Reverse Painted Glass Shade, Early 20th C
Item Details
Handel with a reverse painted shade exhibiting birds of paradise against a black background. The birds are displayed amongst a grouping of flowers, branches, and leaves. The shade is finished with a chipped ice pattern and supported by a three-socket Japanism-style bronze base with two gargoyle head supporting rings and an openwork foot made to look like teak. The shade is signed “Handel” on the metal shade ring as well as on the interior “Handel 7026R”. The base is signed as well.
