Circa 1900 Original Large Neoclassical Oil On Canvas Painting

An impressive circa 1900 large original neoclassical oil on canvas painting of three women at a Greek styled spa. A classic design for any home or office, this lovely painting is very large in scale. It is almost seven feet wide! The painting is mounted in a period frame with dark wood and gilded edges. There are stretchers on the back. Our take on this painting is that it is the work of an amateur artist, not a formally schooled artist. The back of the canvas has not been covered in gesso, which lends credence to this theory. There is an artist name in the lower right hand corner, but it’s pretty much illegible.

Condition

There is some minor paint loss to canvas. Back of canvas does not have gesso on it, which has allowed for some bleed through of the oil paint.
