- canvas relined; repaired tears with overpainting in several areas including across top (above head) and across bottom half (about 2 feet from bottom edge); probable patching to other areas of canvas with overpainting touchups; bitumen deformation throughout backdrop; blanching and blooming to varnish, mainly visible throughout backdrop; craquelure and inpainting, mostly throughout figure’s attire but also in scattered areas of flesh and in backdrop; several non-penetrating punctures throughout less than an inch in size; paint loss throughout, mostly around outer edges; nicks and abrasions to frame with cracking, chips, and loss to finish; accretions throughout; cord to lamp has been cut.
