Circa 1940s Sperti Irradiation Lamp
Item Details
A circa 1940s Sperti Irradiation Lamp, which combines ultraviolet and infrared lighting (model HI-41). This sunlamp is made of light tan metal with chrome and black accents. The lamp swivels and has adjustable height. A sticker is attached to the front of the hood and a guarantee hang tag is attached to the support. Sperti Inc. was started in Cincinnati by Dr. George Speri (1900-1991), an inventor known for his work in ultraviolet sciences. He began the Sperti company to manufacture sunlamps for the general public. During the early 1940s the company manufactured items for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force.
