Item Details
Ercole Barovier (1889-1974) was born into a renowned Muranese family able to trace their origins back to the 13th century. During his nearly fifty year tenure as artistic director at Barovier & Toso (Murano, Italy), he enjoyed great success employing the vetro mosiaco technique which was initially developed by his uncle Guiseppe Barovier. Ercole chose to express his modernist, expressive patterns in vivid colors. His vases are very highly regarded and coveted as they were created in extremely limited numbers.
