Austerman was a longtime member of the Ohio Watercolor Society and the Florida Watercolor Society. He attended UC, AAC, and the Cincinnati Academy of Design and studied with Ed Whitney, Frank Webb, Ray Loos, Marge Brichler, Homer Hacker and Don Goetz. The artist was at one time the President of the Cincinnati Art Club. The artist is collected locally by many of the city’s largest corporations and hospitals.
