Additional Information More items from the estate of renowned author William Goldman (1931-2018). Goldman was a novelist and screenwriter who won two Academy Awards: Best original screenplay for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Best adapted screenplay for All the President’s Men. Other notable works include: Marathon Man, Magic, Misery, and many others. He was most proud of his novel, The Princess Bride, a book inspired by his two daughters, which he later adapted into the screenplay for the much beloved, cult classic film. In his later years he resided in the Penthouse apartment at Carlyle House – the residential side of the legendary Carlyle Hotel. His apartment was featured in Architectural Digest in 1995.
