André Gisson, previously known as Anders Gittelson, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1929. After graduating with a degree in art from Pratt Institute, he eventually studied in Europe, where he developed his Impressionist style. Gisson painted landscapes, coastal scenes, still lifes, and portraits with many influences from French culture. His work can be found in many collections in the Philadelphia area.
