A March 9, 1962 issue of LIFE Magazine, signed by John Glenn. The cover story is titled ‘My Own Story of the Orbit.’ Glenn (born in 1921 in Cambridge, Ohio) was a U.S. Senator and the first American astronaut to orbit the Earth. The cover of the magazine features Glenn, along with his wife and Lyndon B. Johnson, waving to the crowd in a parade for the astronaut. Glenn signed the cover of the magazine directly above his head. Set behind glass in a black shadow box.
