Husidio John Tempest comes from a long line of notable and successful artists, stemming from Antonio Tempesta, circa 1600, in Florence, Italy. His father Gerard Tempest (1918-2009) was a student and protege of famed Italian Surrealist Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978). At the Art Students League, Husidio John studied under artists John Howard Sanden (born 1935) and Nelson Shanks (1937-2015). He maintained a close association with de Chirico and worked in his studio in Rome. Notably, Tempest’s work resides in the permanent collection of the de Chirico museum, Italy, and at the Reynolds Theater at Duke University, United States.
