Barragán was born in Mexico during the late 1940s. He began painting at an early age, and with time has mastered working with pastels. His work reflects the subtleties of light and shadow and the wonder of the female form in its simplest beauty. Females are the focus of his work and in his compositions he presents them in delicate poses or captures them in private moments. In spite of their nakedness, Barragán subjects do not exude vulnerability, but rather radiate a quiet strength.
Barragán aims to infuse his works with the tranquility, beauty and serenity which he believes rule the feminine domain. He has exhibited in Mexico in banks, private collections, universities, hotels, and cultural centers.
