A circa 1880s Weber Victorian upright piano with ivory keys. A rare example of an elaborately decorated upright piano with ostentatious ornamentation and Rococo influences throughout. A full-size handmade piece with molded carved leg supports, fabric-backed front panels of open jigsaw fretwork and applied acanthus leaf moldings, accented with shell and foliate details. The cabinet veneers are mainly rosewood delivering a rich deep patina. To inside a row of ivory facade keys with visible fine grain and joint/seam line between stem and keytop.
Fold down music shelf to inside with ‘Weber, New York’ stencilled in gold.
