A great framed etching by Leonard Mersky titled ‘Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg’. Hand signed in pencil number 62/100. Etching is matted in white and framed in black fiberboard.
Leonard H. Mersky was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1917 and received formal art training at the Massachusetts College of Arts. Mersky studied Etching privately, for several years, with the late William Harry Warren Bicknell, considered by many critics to be one of the finest etchers in the country. Mersky also studied with Cyrus Dallin, Ernest l. Major, Richard Andrew and Otis Philbrick. His prints have been on exhibition at the Copley Society of Boston, the Cape Cod Art Association, Barnstable, Brandeis University, Waltham, and the Dodge House Art Gallery.
