This is an absolutely captivating piece, wherein the artist has delved into a blue stricken wilderness, heavy as anything Picasso ever tried. The painting is signed to the lower right of center, however with Japanese characters, and the characteristic red stamped chop mark. The artist has used an inspired myriad of blue hues and darker organic elements to reflect the posture of a thick and eerie forest. This painting is ghostly, with varied washes that create a thoroughly swirled effect that’s evocative of life’s impermanent ebb and flow.
