Two Civil war era obsolete bank notes. First is a five dollar note from the ‘Merchants bank of South Carolina’ dated 1859. Serial number: 7376. Note has a blank back. Also included is a five dollar note from the ’Farmers & exchange bank ’ of Charleston. Serial number: 491. Printed back. The notes are lightly circulated with barely noticeable folds.
