- tear to paper of painting along the upper edge; small creases and buckling to painting and paper at the corners; toning, mat burn, and scattered foxing to painting and paper; flecks of accretions and loose debris present between artwork, matting, and the covering of frame; cracks, chips, and spots of flaked loss to the gold-toned gesso accents and veneer of frame; abrasions, scratches, scuffs, accretions, and spots of discoloration to frame.
