Molly Dee’s roots run deep in Buffalo, New York, where she was born. Her family has lived in western New York since the early 1800s, she studied at the acclaimed Albright-Knox Art School in the city, she received both her Bachelor and Masters of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Buffalo, and she was an art teacher in the Buffalo school system for many years. She said old photographs, from estate sales, family collections and historical archives, provide the inspiration for her figurative paintings, which are both contemporary and nostalgic.

- minor billowing of the canvas; small tears to canvas to left center and to lower center, repaired via patch to verso; some paint chipping and scratches; abrasions and scratches to the frame; separation to frame joins with adhesive tape to frame molding at corners.
