“Yano” is the “nom de peinture” of Andrea Janovic (1966-), born in Ohio, and currently residing in Kentucky. Janovic is a lawyer by profession, with graduate training in anthropology. Her time living abroad in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and her love of Arabic and Medieval calligraphy can be seen throughout her work. The use of acrylics and ink is predominant in the pieces, which reflect a broad range of abstract design. Her work is titled and signed on the verso.
