Paris Renfroe Modernist WeeHouse Model from Milwaukee Art Museum, 2011
Item Details
This model was commissioned by the Milwaukee Art Museum as part of their 2011 exhibition Frank Lloyd Wright: Organic Architecture for the 21st Century. It was designed by Paris Renfroe and Robert Feyereisen of Alchemy Architects of Minnesota.
It is a dedication to early and mid-20th Century design, including the Bauhaus movement which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, by including a Bauhaus book as well as diminutive versions of Bauhaus director Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona chairs and ottomans, crafted from real leather.
These are presented alongside examples of Gerrit Rietveld 1934 designed Zig Zag chair, Eames birds, Albini ottoman, a faux cowhide rug, and Roy Lichtenstien’s 1963 Varoom! painting.
