- smaller trunk missing leather handles to each side, chipped wood along top edges, rust and oxidation to metal, loss to paper interior lining; larger trunk missing one leather handle, with the other dried and crumbling, cracks to top straps, rust and oxidation to metal, some cracks to leather interior lining; each with nicks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use.
