Born in 1901, Giacometti was a significant sculptor and printmaker. Influenced by Cubism and Surrealism, he began his career creating abstract portraits and objects, reminiscent of Picasso. After WWII, Giacometti became a leading figure in the Existentialist style, creating figural works that represent the anxiety and post-war trauma of human suffering. His art is featured in major collections throughout the world.
